Sustainable Sport Africa Limited (Sustainable Sport Africa) was established by Co-Founders Rachel A. Aron and Tristan Niesslein and draws upon their collective professional experiences and expertise as globally renowned environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability professionals.

Sustainable Sport Africa seeks to create the premier dedicated sustainable sport community for Africa, which embraces all sports disciplines for positive impact for the continent.

Tristan has lived in West Africa for over three years and Rachel is deeply involved in social development activities throughout the continent, through sport. We are administratively based in London, United Kingdom, and Sustainable Sport Africa will engage with various stakeholders and leverage synergies at the individual and organisational levels across Africa and other regions of the world.

Sustainable Sport Africa will be organising Accelerate: the Sustainable Sport Forum for Africa annually. The first Accelerate: the Sustainable Sport Forum for Africa will take place in November 2023.

Purpose: To transform Africa’s sports ecosystem by interweaving sports and sustainability through collaborations, innovation, and compelling narratives  

Vision: To establish Sustainable Sport Africa as the leading resource for all sustainable considerations in sport for Africa

Supercharging Sport and Sustainability in Africa

Sustainable Sport Africa aims to:

Build and enhance awareness of sustainability aspects in the African sports ecosystem and sports value chains;

Foster dialogue, networking, and partnerships on sports and sustainability in Africa; 

Generate and disseminate knowledge on linkages between sports and sustainability in Africa; 

Promote innovations to further advance sports and sustainability across Africa;  

Engage a diverse set of stakeholders from the private sector, the public sector, academia, and other segments of society; and 

Integrate gender, disability inclusion, climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and other relevant considerations into its envisaged sports and sustainability programs, events, and initiatives.
